What this policy covers
This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when we send you SMS (text messages) or when you provide your mobile number to us. It should be read with our broader Privacy Policy (if we have one).
What information we collect for SMS
When you opt in to receive SMS from us, we may collect and handle:
Your mobile number
Your name (if you provide it)
Your communication preferences (e.g., topics, frequency, opt-in status)
Message data (e.g., messages sent, delivery status, timestamps)
Interaction data (e.g., link clicks or replies, if enabled)
We do not intentionally collect sensitive information via SMS (e.g., health information). Please do not send sensitive information to us by SMS.
How we collect your information
We may collect your mobile number and related details when you:
sign up on our website or in a form,
make a purchase or create an account,
request a quote, support, or information,
enter a competition/promotion,
provide your number verbally or in writing, or
update your preferences with us.
Why we use your information (purpose of SMS)
We use SMS to:
send service/transactional messages (e.g., appointment reminders, delivery updates, account/security alerts, support responses), and/or
send marketing messages (e.g., offers, product updates, promotions)
Consent and message types
Transactional SMS: Some messages are necessary to provide services you request (e.g., quote, order or appointment updates). These may be sent even if you are not subscribed to marketing, where permitted by law.
Opting out (unsubscribe)
You can opt out at any time by:
replying STOP to any marketing SMS (or following the unsubscribe instructions in the message), or
contacting us using the details above.
After you unsubscribe, we will stop marketing SMS as soon as practicable. We may still send essential transactional messages (e.g., security or legally required notices) where permitted.
Costs and frequency
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan. We aim to keep SMS frequency reasonable. (If you want, you can add an expected range, e.g., “up to 4 messages per month”.)
Who we share your information with
We may share limited personal information (such as your mobile number and message metadata) with:
SMS service providers and technology partners who help us send messages, manage opt-outs, and measure delivery, and
professional advisers or regulators where required.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing unless you have specifically agreed.
Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure (e.g., access controls, encryption where appropriate, vendor security reviews).
We keep SMS-related personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. When it’s no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Access, correction, and complaints
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us.
If you have a privacy complaint, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the latest version with an updated effective date.
